How to Email and/or SMS Message a Student

  1. Log into your Teacher Portal

  2. Scroll to Clients, find your student, click View Comments

  3. Type your message and hit Send

  1. Messages go to the student’s email in real time. Use for homework updates, teaching notes, etc.

  2. Need to alert a student urgently?

    (e.g., you’re running late and need them to check their email ASAP)

    - Type the word “Urgent” anywhere in your message.

    This will trigger an automatic SMS to the student asking them to check their email.

    (Note: This only works between 7am–9pm and is one-way only – students can’t reply to the text.)

    - If you’re running really late, let the student know in your comment that you’ll cancel and reschedule if needed. Then, text our main business line so our team can follow up the next day.


    🚫 Do not use the word “Urgent” for regular student updates.
    Only use it when you truly need to get the student’s attention immediately (like if you’re running late). Misuse will trigger unnecessary texts.
